Undergraduate Student Research Awards (USRA) from NSERC are meant to stimulate the students' interest in research in the natural sciences and engineering and to encourage them to undertake graduate studies and pursue a research career in these fields.
Starting from 2016, the FRQNT will offer a supplement to the USRA scholarship by awarding an extra $ 2,000 to the USRA scholarship holders enrolled at an eligible university in Quebec. To receive the FRQNT supplement, the USRA award holder must complete the FRQNT online form after having received his or her NSERC letter indicating that he or she is eligible to the supplement.
The allocation of supplements by the FRQNT is made according to the order of receipt of applications and the funds available for this program.
In this form, the scholarship holder must enter the NSERC application number. This number is found on his grant award letter given by the NSERC.
No other number than the application number will be accepted.
The USRA Program is managed by NSERC and clarification on the rules and procedures of the program are available on the NSERC website.
