Québec government's recent budget announced significant additional funding for the Fonds de recherche du Québec (FRQ), namely $180M over the next five years, of which $20M this year. A reinvestment in research much appreciated by the scientific community. These credits for research and training are linked to the upcoming Québec Research and Innovation Strategy (SQRI), which will be unveiled in the following weeks by the Minister of Economy, Science and Innovation, Dominique Anglade. To this end, the FRQ would like to inform the research community that the 2017-2018 competition results will be announced by mid-May, following the unveiling of the SQRI. The announcement was originally scheduled for late April.
