Nearly $200,000 for innovative team research involving Québec and Chinese scientists

January 22nd, 2018

The Fonds de recherche du Québec – Nature et technologies (FRQNT) and the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) are pleased to announce the awarding of four two-year grants of $20,000 per year to research teams selected under the Bilateral Team Research Québec-China program, for total funding of $160,000.

The objective of this program is to support innovative bilateral team research projects involving Québec and Chinese scientists in the fields of geology and climate change and optics-photonics. The program aims to foster the knowledge transfer and encourage major scientific breakthroughs in the short and medium term by combining the strengths and resources of team members in Québec and China.

The FRQNT and the NSFC also announce the awarding of three Short-Term Exchanges Québec-China grants, which will foster sustainable collaboration between Chinese and Québec researchers who have already conducted research with significant results in the areas of geology and climate change or optics-photonics. The grants will serve to fund short-term scientific missions in China and Québec. The FRQNT will provide a maximum of $30,000 to fund these scientific missions.
