An initiative to promote gender equality in STEM

The Fonds de recherche du Québec and the Ministère de l'Économie, de la Science et de l'Innovation are working with UNESCO on the implementation of SAGA in Québec. SAGA, which was presented in the Québec Research and Innovation Strategy 2017-2022 and the Québec government strategy for achieving gender equality by 2021, aims to contribute to reducing the gender gap in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).

SAGA is an innovative global project that has already been implemented in nine countries, namely Uruguay, Argentina, Thailand, Jamaica, Gambia, Lebanon, Haiti, Liberia and Chili. The only northern region to participate in the project, Québec is equipping itself with tools for measuring and analyzing the situation of women and girls in STEM, through the policies, strategies, and initiatives to support gender equality that exist in Québec.

Would you like to participate?

The project coordinating team is currently carrying out an inventory of these gender equality instruments, as well as the targets and indicators used in Québec businesses and organizations. To date, more than 100 organizations have been approached to contribute to the project.  If you would like to take part, it is still possible to do so by completing this questionnaire.
