The Fonds de recherche du Québec – Nature et technologies (FRQNT) Ethics and Scientific Integrity Committee is a standing sub-committee of the FRQSC Board of Directors. Its role is to make proposals to the Board of Directors for research ethics guidelines and the promotion of good research practices. The Ethics and Scientific Integrity Committee identifies emerging research issues and carries out any other mandate relating to ethics and scientific integrity entrusted to it by the Board of Directors. However, this committee does not examine funding applications and does not conduct any other type of research project assessment or review.
The 2013-2016 work plan of the FRQNT Ethics and Scientific Integrity Committee addresses the following themes: ethics training, the responsible conduct of research, academic freedom and intellectual property. During the same period, the FRQNT Ethics and Scientific Integrity Committee is also examining the issues tied to emerging technologies (Nanotechnologies – NE3LS), research and the environment, and college research.
