Mission

GRIL has two main goals: research and the training of highly qualified professionals. Ongoing research projects focus on freshwater ecosystems. In order to improve their understanding of how these ecosystems work, researchers are developing tools to predict how ecosystems will react to current pressures. Such an approach allows the results of fundamental research to be used to mitigate current issues.

Research Axes

  • Interactions between the atmosphere, watershed, rivers, lakes, and ecosystem processes
  • Population and community dynamics, biodiversity, and aquatic habitats
  • The response of aquatic ecosystems to environmental and climatic changes

*The mission comes from the group's website.
