Abstract
In the past decade, analytical techniques have advanced significantly, especially as diffusion magnetic resonance imagining and functional magnetic resonance imaging have merged. However, the new approach has given rise to a range of computing challenges. In seeking to address these challenges, Maxime Chamberland developed an interactive tool that calculates an individual's brain connections and displays them in real time. The innovation greatly facilitates the task of neurosurgeons, who must plan procedures with only a few hours between the time they acquire a patient's data and the time they operate.
