Why become a partner of the FRQNT?

The Fonds de recherche du Québec – Nature et technologies (FRQNT) has positioned itself as a key player in funding research partnerships. Every year it invests a significant portion of its budget in a range of partnered grant and scholarship programs.

In focusing on partnered research, the FRQNT aims to enhance the innovative capability of public organizations and Québec businesses in priority sectors by building on interactions between universities, companies, government research centres, college centres for technology transfer as well as various economic and government partners.

This partnership-based approach is characterized by the active participation of partners throughout the research process, from defining research needs to appropriating the results. Partnered research programs provide support for high quality research networks, clusters and projects that meet the specific needs of financial partners and end users of research.

The funding of partnered research fosters an increase in research activities, the training of highly qualified personnel and innovation that targets partners' research needs. By pooling the partners' financial resources, a leverage effect is created that is beneficial for society as a whole.

Programs that are tied to your needs

The FRQNT's partnered grant programs provide funding for research projects that target the needs defined by you, as a partner. The results are thus more likely to address your concerns.

Access to the entire research community

Through calls for proposals issued by the FRQNT, the partnered research approach provides you with direct access to the natural sciences and engineering communities at Québec universities and colleges. Your research needs can be met by researchers with recognized expertise in their fields.

A rigorous process of project selection and follow-up

The expertise of the FRQNT ensures a rigorous project selection process based on excellence and scientific peer review, and proper monitoring of funded projects.

Appropriate knowledge transfer

The results of the research are shared with you throughout the course of the project, ensuring their rapid appropriation and dissemination.

A multiplier effect

Pooling the partners' financial resources produces a significant leveraging effect, making this a valuable option and an avenue of choice for scientific research.

A dynamic approach that encourages partner involvement
